Smooth Yoga -
Purpose of Yoga practice

Recently, it has been my focus to teach yoga students to see and use their practice in ways that change their everyday life movements for the better; i.e. - to breathe & move with minimum tenseness. A practice just for the purpose of perfomrng the poses right, or getting calm once or twice a week (or even daily on you own mat) isn't what our human society needs now. Who else out there looks at the practice of yoga this way. Comments welcome. True Alisandre, ERYT, LMT

Yogasana practice does not only make your physique strong but also it makes oneself to be mentally fit. As it controls even the mind also seems to be very useful. Research has shown that yoga produces measurable bodily changes, including lower breathing rate and blood pressure, and altered brain-wave activity, which indicates increased relaxation. It has been shown that practicing yoga can reduce stress and anxiety, both immediate and over time.
